Newell Receives ACADIA Innovation Award for M.S. Concentration in Digital and Material Technologies

Catie Newell, associate professor or architecture, received the 2019 Innovative Academic Program Award of Excellence from the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) for Taubman College’s Master of Science in Digital and Material Technologies program. Newell serves as director of the program, which is an intensive, 10-month post-professional degree that invests in the technologies, materials, and production logics that are most drastically shaping and challenging our built world and its respective industries. Newell accepts the award on behalf of Taubman College and the faculty of the Digital and Material Technologies program. Other faculty who teach in the program are Sean AhlquistMatias del CampoWes McGee, Asa PellerKathy Velikov, and Glenn Wilcox.

ACADIA is an international network of digital design researchers and professionals. Since 1998, ACADIA awards have recognized individuals in the the field of architectural computing. This year’s awards will be presented at the 2019 ACADIA conference, which will take place October 24-26, 2019, at the University of Texas, Austin.
