UM, Urban Land Institute Real Estate Forum monetary prizes awarded to planning, business, real estate, natural resource students

Peter Allen, urban planning lecturer, along with Jim Kosteva, UM director of community relations, reviewed and selected five applicants as winners of the “Why Would You Live in Flint” essay for the Real Estate Forum Scholarship. The selected winners include Dustin Sommer (M.Arch. & Real Estate Certificate), Lauren Williams (M.U.D. and M.L.A.), Graham Brown (M.B.A./M.S./Erb Institute), Michelle Lam (M.U.P.), and John Drain (M.U.P. and Real Estate Certificate). The scholarships are funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation which was represented by Neal Hegarty, Program Director for Flint Area Programs for the Foundation. Allen presented the winners on Nov. 11, 2010 at the 24th Annual University of Michigan and Urban Land Institute Real Estate Forum held in Flint, Mich.

The 24th Annual University of Michigan and Urban Land Institute Real Estate Forum, held Nov. 11-12, 2010 in Flint, Michigan, “provided valuable lessons in local real estate development and highlighted real estate investment and development opportunities.” The forum united more than 300 real estate professionals of differing backgrounds to discuss the changing market and development in the industry. The UM/ULI Real Estate Forum is a non-profit volunteer organization, dedicated to educating real estate organizations and professionals.
