Jake Albers

Lecturer

Jake Albers is a lecturer at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He also serves as Managing Director of the Weiser Center for Real Estate at the University of Michigan, which serves as a hub for students pursuing real estate careers, providing them with educational and professional development opportunities and serving as a catalyst for interdisciplinary collaboration at the University and beyond. In his role, Jake leads the center’s program development, strategic execution, and operations.

Jake has been with the University of Michigan since 2016 and has over a decade of experience across higher education and community and economic development sectors, having worked in municipal roles with the City of Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority and in non-profit economic development with Ann Arbor Spark. For the past 6 years, Jake has been chairperson of the City of Ypsilanti Zoning Board of Appeals. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Michigan University.
