The Campus Mind Works website was created to support University of Michigan students who have been diagnosed with an ongoing mental health disorder. This site provides information and resources to help students manage their illness.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Counseling and Psychological Services is committed to providing multicultural and multidisciplinary expert therapeutic support. Clinical services include brief personal therapy for individuals, couples and groups and crisis intervention. The central CAPS office is located in the Michigan Union (4th floor). After hours for urgent concerns, you can call 734-764-8312 and press “0” to speak with a counselor.

Individual therapy, Urgent/Crisis Intervention, Consultation, and Outreach are now conveniently offered to currently enrolled students at Taubman College by Karen Henry, Psy.D in Room 2208F, Art and Architecture Building. Karen is affiliated with CAPS but works exclusively with art, design, architecture and urban planning students.

University Health Service (UHS)

University Health Service offers comprehensive outpatient medical services, conveniently located on central campus. The University Health Service is committed to promoting and protecting the health of students and other members of the University community so that they may achieve their educational goals. Depression Center

The University of Michigan Depression Center is the first-ever multidisciplinary center dedicated to research, education, and treatment of depressive and bipolar illnesses. The Rachel Upjohn Building, located at 4250 Plymouth Road, houses the U-M Depression Center and Department of Psychiatry. They are open 7:30am until 7:00pm Mondays through Thursdays, and close at 5:00pm on Fridays. Call 734-936-4400 to make an appointment.

Psychological Clinic

The Psychological Clinic provides psychoeducational evaluations and evidence-based psychotherapy to students and faculty as well as community members and others based in southeast Michigan. The clinic provides individual, couples, and group counseling for common problems such as perfectionism and procrastination, school and career difficulties, trauma and grieving, and many others. There is a link to take a screening survey on the website, and you can call 734-764-3471 to make an appointment. BCN/GradCare is accepted and fees may be based on a sliding scale.

Uwill

U-M students have access to up to six free counseling sessions per year through teletherapy provider Uwill.

Career Center

The Career Center assists students from all academic units with their career exploration, job search skill development and interest in advanced educational opportunities.

Dean of Students (DOS)

The Dean of Student’s Office offers individual support, programs, services, co-curricular opportunities, policy development and advocacy to advance the Michigan experience of all students.

International Center

The International Center provides a variety of services to assist international students, scholars, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan, as well as U-M American students seeking opportunities to study, work, or travel abroad.

Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA)

The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs and the William Monroe Trotter Multicultural Center serve as resources of support for diverse student populations in our campus community.

Office of Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid is committed to helping students obtain the financial assistance needed to reach their educational goals. This can include financial planning to include costs of mental health services.

Office of Institutional Equity

The Office of Institutional Equity provides oversight of and support for the University’s compliance efforts in the areas of equal opportunity, affirmative action, harassment and discrimination prevention, and compliance with all applicable State and Federal civil rights laws.

Ombuds Office

The Ombuds Office is a place where student questions, complaints and concerns about the functioning of the University can be discussed confidentially in a safe environment. The Office offers informal dispute resolution services, provides resources and referrals, and helps students consider options available to them.

Services for Students with Disabilities

Services for Students with Disabilities provides equal and integrated access for students with visual impairments, learning disabilities, mobility impairments, hearing impairments, chronic health problems and psychological disabilities.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC)

SAPAC provides educational and supportive services for the University of Michigan community related to sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, sexual harassment, and stalking.

Spectrum Center

Spectrum Center provides a comprehensive range of education, information and advocacy services working to create and maintain an open, safe and inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, and staff, their families and friends, and the campus community at large.

UM Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program

UM Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program is a comprehensive and student-centered program. Staff use evidence-based strategic interventions, collaboration, innovation and the incorporation of the wellness dimensions to reduce the harmful consequences of alcohol and other drug use.
