Urban and Regional Planning Faculty present at ACSP Annual Conference, Envision
Urban and Regional Planning faculty will participate at the 52nd Annual Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) Conference, with the theme "Envision," at the University of Utah, October 13-16, 2011. Taubman College faculty will present papers and moderate sessions, such as "Planning Practice and Everyday Urbanism," "Accessibility: From Region to Neighborhood" and "Conservation Planning and Regulations." "Envision" reinforces the core mission of planning and encourages the application of assessments of the past and analyses of current conditions toward creatively and boldly envisioning better futures and moving forward to realize them.
At the event, Centennial Professor of Urban and Regional Planning June Manning Thomas was inducted as the ACSP vice president/president for a two-year term. Previously, Thomas served as the Planners of Color Interest Group (POCIG) Co-Chair 2010-2012. They provided special recognition for her years of service to POCIG “in grateful recognition of your loving vision and service as founding co-chair.” For more about POCIG: click here.
