Taubman College Catie Newell featured in Architect Magazine
Assistant Professor of Architecture, Catie Newell, was recently interviewed and featured in the “Next Progressives” section of Architect Magazine.
The feature titled, Out of the Shadows, highlights how Newell has embraced the theme of darkness by creating installations inspired by Detroit’s urban landscape.
The article also mentions how Newell is in the beginning of her year-long fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. Her fellowship is a result of her proposal, “Involving Darkness,” which continues a succession of urban interventions that Newell has installed in cities such as Detroit and Flint.
