Taubman College Zimmerman to chair panel at SAH
Associate Professor Claire Zimmerman will chair a session at the Society of Architectural Historians Annual Conference in Austin, Texas (April 9-12, 2014), entitled “Left Critique and Modern Architecture,” featuring papers from Daniel Talesnick, Ben Highmore, Hilde Heynen, Britt Eversole, and Simone Brott. The session explores little-known critiques of modernism from the left, through figures such as Karel Teige, Max Raphael, Sybil Moholy-Nagy, Siegfried Kracauer, Ernst Bloch, the Contropiano circle, and the “New Brutalists.”
