Describe the work you do. What are some of your recent and current projects that excite you? What inspires you about the future of your chosen field?

I am a Project Director for Gensler with a focus on large, complex mixed-use, residential, and hospitality projects. Most recently, we just opened the Signia by Hilton hotel in Atlanta, a 976 key hotel attached directly to the Georgia World Congress Center…it was a five-year labor of love! It was very rewarding to be part of such a transformational project on the Atlanta skyline, but what really inspires me about Architecture is the ability to positively influence people’s lives with the spaces that we design.

Why did you choose Taubman College for your education?

After visiting the school, I fell in love with the campus, the energy at Taubman, and the school’s approach to Architecture…I never looked back.

How did Taubman College prepare you for your career? What experiences beyond the classroom (internships, research assistantships, teaching opportunities, or other external experiences) provided additional value?

I had an amazing experience at Taubman’s spring travel studio in Ghana. Professor Chaffers led an amazing trip to experience Ghanaian culture, architecture, and history. We created lasting memories and experiences that enriched our lives and helped us think about the world differently.

What did you like best about attending Taubman College?

Taubman was a fun place to learn where the professors and fellow students really did care about a student’s success and well-being. The faculty emphasized critical thinking to push us to look at Architecture in a way that we hadn’t done so previously. This opened our eyes to a new way of thinking that wasn’t limited to the traditional practice of Architecture. And the football is pretty great too!

What advice or important lesson would you share with someone considering Taubman College and/or pursuing a career in your chosen field?

The field of Architecture is very challenging and demanding, but also very fulfilling. It is rewarding to see people experience the spaces that we design.
