At Liberty Research Forum 02

April 1, 2014 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cultural critics and film historians have long noted relationships between film and architecture, two media characterized by a dynamic relationship to time, an interest in space, and a concern with form. Architects design sets and film palaces, but they also engage film as a medium through which to think about space and time in new ways.

This forum hosts short presentations on film as a medium for architectural investigation by three faculty members, accompanied by responses from Taubman College’s Roy Strickland and Markus Nornes, Chair of Screen Arts and Culture. Our goal, following the first research forum: to consider how film and architecture advance research and pedagogy in ways that might be both productive and interrogatory.
