Career Talk: Robert Champagne, Vice President, CHANEL Global Store Design Inc.  (B.S. ’86)

Robert Champagne is a practicing architect in New York, overseeing world-wide architectural development for Chanel fashion boutiques, designed by esteemed architect and long standing Chanel collaborator, Peter Marino, FAIA. Over the course of 25 years in the profession, Robert has lived in the U.S., United Kingdom, France, India and Hong Kong, working for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Peter Rice, BV Doshi and HOK. 

He will talk about the various roles he played and his experiences working for international clients, as well as the importance of architecture to business and brands. He will address the role of the architect in a large corporation as a creative thinker and as a practitioner. 

Champagne received his undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Michigan (’86) and his master of architecture from University of Virginia, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
