Kadambari Baxi is an architect and media designer, and a founding principal of imageMachine, a new media/web design practice specializing in planning, design, and implementation for new media projects. In this capacity, she has worked closely with a range of non-profit corporations, such as the Altus Global Alliance, Public/Private Ventures, and the Vera Institute of Justice. Her work has been exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt Musem, Henry Urbach Architecture, and Artist’s Space. She is also a partner in Martin/Baxi Architects. An Associate Professor of Professional Practice in the Architecture Program at Barnard and Columbia Colleges, she has authored two books in collaboration with Reinhold Martin: Entropia (Black Dog Publishing, London, 2000) and Multi-National City: Silicon Valley, New York, and New Delhi (Actar, Barcelona, forthcoming 2007). She was trained in interactive new media technologies and architecture, and holds degrees from the Interactive Telecommunications Program, NYU; the School of Art and Design, Pratt Institute; and the School of Architecture, CEPT, Ahmedabad, India.
