URP Professional Projects and Theses

Prof. Joe Grengs will hold two meetings (the other is 4/7 at 3:00 in room 1227) to discuss the purposes for undertaking a professional project or thesis in lieu of a capstone, the process for submitting a proposal to the curriculum committee, and the expectations of the curriculum committee in reviewing proposals. Project or thesis proposals that do not meet the expectations of the curriculum committee will not be approved.
If you are contemplating the option of proposing a professional project or thesis during the 2014-15 academic year in lieu of enrolling in a capstone project (UP 634), you must attend one of the two meetings. If you do not attend, you will not be allowed to submit a proposal for a project or thesis and so will need to enroll in a capstone to satisfy the program’s integrative field experience requirement.
