Taubman College Taubman College is pleased to welcome Adam Yarinsky, Eliel Saarinen Visiting Professor winter 2010, and Ben Nicholson, Max Fisher Visiting Professors winter 2010. Yarinsky and Nicholson are teaching graduate studios ARCH 562.
Adam Yarinsky
Adam Yarinsky is co-founder and Partner of the New York firm Architecture Research Office LLC (ARO). Since 1993, ARO has completed a number of award-winning designs including the US Armed Forces Recruiting Station at Times Square, the Prada New York Epicenter store (with OMA), the Martha’s Vineyard House, the Colorado House in Teluride, the restorations of the Donald Judd loft in SOHO, and, most recently, the School of Architecture at Princeton University. ARO’s awards include two National AIA Honor awards, multiple AIA NY Merit awards, and a Design Distinction Award from ID Magazine. The work of ARO is widely published including a monograph by Princeton Architectural Press in 2003. Yarinsky is a LEED-certified, NCARB licensed architect, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a peer-reviewer for the Federal GSA Design Excellence Program, and past juror for Canadian Architect Design Awards, and the New Jersey and Pennsylvania AIA Awards Programs. He was on the winning team for the 2007 Latrobe Fellowship Prize. Yarinsky holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Virginia School of Architecture.

Ben Nicholson
Nicholson is on the faculty and an advisor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Architecture.
He has exhibited work at internationally acclaimed venues including: Whitney Museum of American Art at Altria, NY; Max Protetch Gallery, NY; Venice Biennale for Architecture; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Canadian Center for Architecture, Montreal. Book: The World: Who Wants It?; A Tool for Fair Measure. Publications by Nicholson include: Archeworks Papers; Reflexive Architecture; Inform; Assemblage.
