Assistant Professor Ghosn’s essay published in “Thresholds 40: Socio—”

Assistant Professor Rania Ghosn‘s essay entitled “Move Along! There Is Nothing to See” was published in Thresholds, the Journal of the MIT Department of Architecture. Edited by Jonathan Crisman, the theme of Threshold‘s issue 40, “Socio—,” is about socially charged cultural practices.

“Move Along! There Is Nothing to See” argues that the social project of architecture is bigger than that of a service provider, be it technical or otherwise, in the service of the reproduction of relations that construct the Social. Rather, in Ghosn’s words, it “disturbs the socialized consensual order of solidified social categories by opening the domain of relevant spatial concerns,” operating to reconfigure our society.
