Abstract
Detroit community development corporations are in crisis because of loss of demand for housing and other development. They need to find new ways to further their missions and support themselves. To expand CDC capacity, CDCs and their trade association can work to clarify roles and relationships at the neighborhood level and improve interactions between CDCs and the larger community development system—intermediaries, resource providers, and support organizations.
