In the aging borough of Queens, New York, we focused on this issue and planned and designed for it. The project takes inspiration from the NORC form of neighborhood, and to change the problem of too much independence, we added elements of Downtown Flushing to form an aging-friendly but all-ages neighborhood with an urban interface on the second floor and a community interface on the second floor.
