Why did you choose Taubman College as the right program for you?
I knew Taubman was the right college for me to study Urban and Regional Planning when I attended the “Preview Day.” I remember hearing Christopher Trembley speak to the students with so much excitement and going on the Ann Arbor tour with Larissa Larsen. Somehow, I knew that Taubman would feel right at home, and looking back, I knew I made the right decision to study at Taubman.

What is special or excites you about the Taubman community?
What excites me most about the Taubman community is the many opportunities created for the students to explore their interests and explore outside of their interests. During orientation, we are encouraged to take classes outside of Taubman. I believe this makes Taubman even more unique. They really care about students getting their well-rounded education to be more enhanced in what they learn during their time here.

What are your plans after graduation?
I am currently working at an amazing firm; Lord Aeck Sargent. I hope to continue working there on Landscape Architecture projects and Neighborhood Planning (which is what my interests are in). I also plan to continue to advocate for BIPOC students in Landscape Architecture through the many organizations I am in.

Additional advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective students?
Don’t be afraid to come into Taubman not knowing everything. Michigan can be intimidating but you were chosen because you bring something special to the school. Use the gifts that admission pulled out of you many essays and share that with the school, with the students and the community. It’ll be well worth it.
