Associate Professor Larissa Larsen will speak Michigan Association of Planning (MAP) annual conference Oct. 20-23, 2010, in downtown Detroit.
Larsen will participate on a panel entitled,”How Everyone Can Eat Well- Planning and Community-Based Food,” which will concentrate on”community-based food practices and programs producing equal, affordable access to sustainably produced food.” The panel will discuss community kitchens, youth programs, prisoner-rentry programs, farm incubators, worker-run cooperative food stores, produce trucks, urban agricultural zoning and more. Fellow panelists include Megan A. Masson-Minock (M.U.P. 2000), ENP & Associates, and Kathryn Colasanti, C.S. Mott Group for Sustainable Systems at Michigan State University. The panel is on Oct. 21.
The college is also hosting a reception on Wed., Oct. 20, for Taubman College alumni, students and faculty at the event.
