Urban Planning Student Lucas Kirkpatrick from UC Davis elected to the Michigan Society of Fellows

Urban Planning student Lucas Kirkpatrick from University of California, Davis was one of eight candidates out of a field of 932 applicants selected for the Michigan Society of Fellows. The other selected candidates applied from schools including Columbia University, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Chicago, and University of Wisconsin. Their diverse fields of specialization include ecology and evolutionary biology, Asian languages and cultures, and anthropology, among others.

Each fellow is awarded a three-year appointment as assistant professor in an affiliated department of the university as well as a three-year appointment as a postdoctoral scholar in the Society of Fellows.
