The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) recently announced that Taubman College faculty Geoffrey Thün and Kathy Velikov have earned a Journal of Architecture Education (JAE) Award for their article titled, “Thick Air.” The article was published in the JAE 65:2, March 2012 edition. Colin Ripley of Ryerson University also collaborated on the article.

The Journal of Architecture Education Best Article Award is selected from articles submitted to the journal over the past year. For more than 59 years the JAE has represented as its flagship publication and each year the ACSA honors architectural educators for exemplary work in areas such as building design, community collaborations, scholarship, and service. The award-winning professors inspire and challenge students, contribute to the profession’s knowledge base, and extend their work beyond the borders of academy into practice and the public sector.

The Awards Ceremony will be held on March 22, 2013 during ACSA’s 101st Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California.
