Thomas and Dewar Discuss the Future of Detroit in Interview on Michigan Public Radio’s Stateside

June Manning Thomas and Margaret Dewar, both Professors of Urban and Regional Planning, sat down with Cynthia Canty for an interview on Stateside titled, “Stateside: Abandoned cities that bounce back.”

Both professors offered opinion and context while discussing the next steps for Detroit as proposed in “The Detroit Future City plan.” The plan, released by Detroit Mayor David Bing’s Detroit Works Project, offers both short term action and long term plans to rebuild the city while improving the quality of life and business in Detroit.

Thomas and Dewar are editors of the book “The City after Abandonment,” a collection of essays from top urban planning experts.
