The New Creativity Workshop with Sylvia Lavin; deadline to register is February 4

On Saturday, February 7, internationally known critic, historian, and curator Sylvia Lavin from UCLA will visit Taubman College to teach a workshop titled, “The New Creativity Workshop.”

The workshop will explore the new creativity in the context of Action Office, an exemplary episode in the history the development of this new model.  Students will briefly research an historical action office, investigate the tools of design used in its production and will use, misuse and ultimately redesign the tools themselves.  Student output will be drawings made using historic Action Office templates as well as new templates to be used to generate new forms of design.

Running through the weekend, the workshop will terminate with a review and panel on Tuesday, February 10 at 6:00pm in the West Review space with Taubman College faculty members Ellie Abrons, Adam Fure, Andrew Holder, Jaffer Kolb and John McMorrough.

The deadline for registering for the workshop is Wednesday, February 4 at 5:00pm. Space is limited and only available to currently enrolled Taubman College students.
