Grengs Appointed to Federal Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity

Joe Grengs, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Director of Doctoral Studies in Urban and Regional Planning, was appointed by U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Renard Foxx to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity. This new committee, launched in December, 2016, will act as an independent advisor to the Secretary of Transportation on issues pertaining to transportation equity from a variety of stakeholders involved in transportation planning, design, research, policy, and advocacy. Grengs joins other prominent equity scholars and advocates including PolicyLink founder Angela Glover Blackwell, policy activist Van Jones, former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, and transportation experts Robert Puentes, and Phil Washington.
