Comparative Urban Policy

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with current debates dealing with urban planning theory and practice both domestically and internationally. The themes considered in the course include the built environment and architectural design of cities, modernist city-building and postmodern urbanism, the entrepreneurial city and privatized urbanism, and the politics of place.

Note: This course is pre-approved as a MUD Directed Elective in the Policy, Law, and Institutions category.
