Associate Professor Daubmann talks about award-winning digital design and fabrication research at University of Colorado Boulder
Associate Professor Karl Daubmann will present a lecture, “Efficiencies,” at the University of Colorado Boulder on April 16, 2012. Daubmann, principal at PLY Architecture, will discuss the award-winning work of PLY, in addition to recent digital design and fabrication research. PLY is inspired by the industrialized, massed production techniques found in the Detroit area, with its ability to reduce costs and provide a product of consistently high quality to a broad segment of the public. Their work challenges economies of construction and resists the reductive aesthetics of market-driven architecture. Daubmann is also the creative director for Boston-based Blu Homes.
