“The Mothership” designed by Assistant Professor of Architecture Anya Sirota and collaborators at Maker Fair Detroit

The “Mothership” will be landing at the Henry Ford Museum at Maker Fair Detroit, July 25-26 2015. There will be live DJ sets and music programming throughout the weekend to accompany the exhibit.

Assistant Professor of Architecture Anya Sirota and partner Jean Louis Farges of Akoaki created the Mothership in fall 2014 to support of the ONE Mile Project, a yearlong series of cultural and architectural interventions in Detroit’s North End.  Designed in consultation with music producer Bryce Detroit, and a broad network of Parliament-Funkadelic musicians, the P-Funk inspired mobile DJ booth, broadcast module, and urban marker transmits performances and cultural events from the North End.
