“Taubman College opened my eyes to my own potential, and that I could survive among the best, thrive among the best, and be among the best!”
Why did you choose Taubman College?
The program is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 programs in the nation. At the time, U-M Taubman was #2. Also, 45 minutes away from home.
Describe the work that you do.
I lead design on projects of all scales, but mostly get pulled into large complex building projects.
What are some of the projects that you have worked on recently?
Arthur Ashe Stadium, Grandstand Stadium (Tennis), Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Flint YMCA
How did Taubman College prepare you for your career?
Critical thinking and confidence in design ideas. Graphic capabilities are strong as a result!
What is an important lesson that has stayed with you from your time at Taubman College?
As a design leader, your design story/concept must be strong. Be sure to put rigor into the reasoning for design decisions, and keep it pure — don’t let the design concept control decisions — let the project evolve the concept.
What did you like best about attending Taubman College?
It opened my eyes to greater possibilities — I could see that there was more out there that I could be a part of and have an effect on. Also, it opened my eyes to my own potential, and that I could survive among the best, thrive among the best, and be among the best
