This course introduces students to the fundamentals of computer aided design as practiced in the field of architecture. Core competencies will be developed through weekly drawing exercises and software intensive labs, while a broader critical framework for conceiving of contemporary and historical digital practices will be encouraged through weekly lecture. Emphasis will be placed on careful consideration of digital mediums and developing a sense of craft related to digital drawing. Students will be exposed to a number of software platforms including: Rhino 4.0, V-ray, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
