A freehand studio drawing course that concentrates on measuring, analyzing form, and identifying concepts through linear graphic means. Principles of orthographic and perspective projection are the focus of investigation. Intended primarily for students considering a design-related career but open to students from any discipline wishing to improve their visual literacy.

Learning objectives:

  • Intermediate hand drawing.
  • Introduction to abstraction.
  • Introduction to orthographic projections, such as plan, section, and elevation through hand drawing.
  • Development of relational understanding between different drawing projections.

Software requirements:

  • Pencil and eraser
