French 2D uses thermal and social comfort, and the feelings provoked by form and character, to drive technical and formal invention. This lecture will present a series of housing projects, interspersed with a series of short-term installations, interweaving the invention of unusual pre-occupancy housing workshops housing with the production of post-occupancy reports for events like collective meals. The lecture will highlight a design process that considers layers, both hard and soft, that connect bodies and emotions in space along with the participatory models that French 2D creates, which are not about collating clients’ desires, but translating meaning through our mutual expertise.
