TVLab invites you to engage with the outcomes of No Strings Attached, a transdisciplinary workshop that reimagines puppetry as a site of inquiry into embodiment, materiality, and the politics of assembly. Led by Anima Theatre director Yiorgos Karakantzas, with support from puppet fabricator Alma Roccella, the workshop brought together students from Taubman College, Stamps, SMTD, and the School of Social Work to co-design and construct inhabitable animated artifacts.
Exploring hybridization as both a conceptual and material strategy, participants developed full-body puppets that disrupt conventional notions of representation and agency, foregrounding the dynamic intersections of human forms, objects, and performative motion. This event offers a space to encounter these animated forms in action and reflect on the evolving dialogue between bodies, materials, and the act of assembly.
