D’Marco Ansari is a real estate development professional focused on housing, neighborhood revitalization, and the practical mechanics of urban development finance.

He currently serves as Development Director in the City of Detroit’s Housing & Revitalization Department, Public–Private Partnership Division, advancing mixed-use and multi-family housing and redevelopment projects in collaboration with public agencies, private developers, and community stakeholders.

Previously, Ansari served as Senior Project Manager on a residential portfolio of more than 450 units totaling approximately $80 million in development costs, where he led pre-development strategy and municipal entitlements and worked closely with architects, contractors, finance, and asset management teams to move projects from feasibility through delivery.

Active in development since 2010, his experience spans both public and private sectors, with particular interest in legacy cities and emerging urban markets. He holds a Historic Real Estate Finance Development Professional certification with Grow America and is a member of the Equity Development Initiative community with Capital Impact Partners, a national program advancing equitable and community-centered real estate development.

His teaching emphasizes real-world feasibility, capital structuring, and the decision-making frameworks practitioners use to evaluate risk and execute projects in complex urban environments.
