Martin West

For more than 30 years, Marty West has been a leader in the real estate investment community, serving a distinguished list of both private and institutional clients. He currently provides real estate consulting services based on his many years in the industry nationwide. In 2013, he collaborated with Plante Moran to form Plante Moran Realpoint Investment Advisors (PMRIA), where he served as president through 2024. With Marty’s direction, PMRIA established offices in Southfield, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; and Denver, Colorado and reached over $1.5 billion of real estate assets under advisement. 

Throughout his career, Marty has managed a variety of debt and equity real estate transactions across multiple product types. From deal identification and due diligence through financial analysis, deal structuring, and negotiation of terms, Marty has a wealth of experience helping clients achieve their objectives. In addition to transactional capabilities, Marty has an extensive asset management background that includes assisting clients in developing plans for underperforming assets, determining appropriate hold/sell strategies, directing acquisitions and administering the development of new properties. 

Marty holds a master of business administration from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction. He also holds an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. Marty is a certified public accountant and a licensed real estate broker in the state of Michigan.
