Architecture Faculty Positions Available

The college seeks to make appointments in the following areas:
Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty in Environmental Building Technology
One position is available in environmental building technology, with a focus on passive and active building performance, energy-efficient building, and building systems integration. The demonstrated ability to conduct research and contribute to doctoral studies in this area is desired. Candidates should have a record of teaching, scholarship, publication, and/or related professional experience. A Ph.D. is desirable. The candidate should have the ability to teach core courses in environmental technology, including acoustics and lighting as well as electives with emphasis on sustainability. Interested applicants must apply by February 16, 2009.

Two Tenure Track Positions in Architectural Design

Two tenure track assistant professor positions are available beginning in academic year 2009-2010 for persons qualified to offer graduate and undergraduate-level instruction in architectural design plus courses in a secondary specialty such as visual studies, design theory, construction, or science and technology. Candidates must demonstrate expertise and achievement in architectural design, have some teaching experience, and evidence strong promise of future achievement in the field. At a minimum, a terminal degree in architecture is required. Applicants should apply by February 16, 2009 by sending a letter explaining their interest in the position, curriculum vitae, portfolio, and the names of three references.

Walter B. Sanders Fellowship/Research

Willard A. Oberdick Fellowship/Project

Michigan Architecture Fellows are appointed as lecturers, spend one year in residence, and teach three classes in addition to pursuing their fellowship interests.
