Dean Monica Ponce de Leon and Professor of Practice Mary-Ann Ray featured professionals in “Architecture: A Women’s Profession”

Dean Monica Ponce de Leon and Professor of Practice Mary-Ann Ray were featured professionals in the book, Architecture: A Women’s Profession, authored and edited by Tanja Kullack. The interviews were included among others, such as Jeanne Gang, Farshid Muoussavi, Caroline Bos, Denise Scott Brown and Lisa Iwamoto. The author notes that “Architecture is neither a man’s nor a woman’s profession, it is just a profession.” However, she notes that the idea of the built environment is still considered to be “man-made.” Topics the women were interviewed about range from viewpoints in architecture to “starchitects” to subversive behavior.
