Professor Kelbaugh and Lecturer McCullough serve on 2012 CNU Charter Awards Jury
Professor of Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning Douglas Kelbaugh served as chair on the 2012 Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) Charter Awards Jury, which brings together a distinguished group of architects, planners, landscape architects, developers and academics. Architecture Lecturer Kit McCullough also served on the jury. Every year, CNU facilitates an awards program to recognize the very best in New Urbanist design. Winning projects are recognized for their excellence in fulfilling and advancing the principles of the CNU, which defines the essential qualities of walkable, sustainable places from the scale of the region down to the block and building. On May 10, 2012, Kelbaugh presented the awards to the nine winners at the 20th CNU in West Palm Beach, FL. He also presented a paper on the urban design and planning of Dubai, which was published in Urban Design and Planning and this year’s URP student journal Agora.
