Strickland Appointed International Visiting Professor of Urban Design at South China University of Technology
Professor of Architecture Roy Strickland was named International Visiting Professor of Urban Design at South China University of Technology (SCUT) in Guangzhou, China. The faculty appointment is for five years. As SCUT embarks on establishing its urban design degree program, Strickland will help develop curriculum, conduct seminars and serve as guest critic for the program’s studios. The appointment coincides with his designation as an Overseas Expert (in the field of urban design) by the national government of China. Strickland was founding director of Taubman College’s Master of Urban Design Program from 2001 to 2012. Other SCUT visiting design professors from the United States have included Michael Dennis at MIT and Peter Bosselmann at U.C. Berkeley.
