2017 Master of Urban Planning Student Awards

2017 Master of Urban Planning Student Awards

At Taubman College’s Commencement Exercises, held April 30, 2017, student award recipients were recognized for, leadership, service, and their exemplary character. These remarkable students were nominated, and voted on by faculty members for their service to the community and college. 

Urban and Regional Planning Chair Richard Norton presented the following awards to the Class of 2017: 

  • The Service to the Community Award was given to the Cultural Competency Collective (CCC): Ujijji Davis, Leah Gerber, Cassie Hackel, Allison Kappeyne van de Coppello, Sonja Karnovsky, Alexandra Ramirez Stege, Bithia Ratnasamy, Charisma Thapa, and Julianna Tschirhart. 
  • Then, the Service to the Urban and Regional Planning Program was awarded to; Planning for Inclusion Initiative (Pi2): Rosie Pahl Donaldson, Allison Kappeyne van de Coppello, Sonja Karnovsky, Erika Linenfelser, Alex Ramirez Stege, Bithia Ratnasamy, Jermaine Ruffin, and Charisma Thapa. 
  • Julianna Tschirhart was accorded with the 2017 American Institute of Certified Planners Award.
