Jazairy Selected to Participate in 2018 Venice Biennale

Assistant Professor El Hadi Jazairy’s practice, Design Earth, has been selected to exhibit work in the U.S. Pavilion for the upcoming 2018 Venice Biennale. According to the Architectural Record article, Jazairy, with co-founder Rania Ghosn, are among the seven artists, designers, and architects to be featured.

The title for the U.S. exhibition is Dimensions of Citizenship. As one pavilion in the international event, “Dimensions of Citizenship will grapple with the idea of belonging and the meaning of being a citizen. Each team will investigate a different ‘special condition of design and citizenship,’ according to a statement from the show’s two institutional co-commissioners, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and the University of Chicago.” The 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale will run from May 26 to November 25.
