Marc Norman Published In Book: Prefab Housing and the Future of Building: Product to Process
Associate Professor of Practice in Urban and Regional Planning Marc Norman has contributed a chapter in the recently published book Prefab Housing and the Future of Building: Product to Process.
Affordable housing has seen a shift in thinking that extends beyond housing provision to include wealth generation, social service provision, skill building and neighborhood cohesion. Professor Norman’s article discusses ways in which industrialized housing building could help achieve these goals in addition to lowering cost and embedding itself solidly in the affordable housing ecosystem. Norman’s chapter is entitled “Affordability of Industrialised House Building.”
This book includes case studies from Japan, Sweden, UK, Germany, Austria and the USA and provides an international history of prefab and modular housing as well as critically examining present innovations and future scenarios. It can be purchased at https://www.lundhumphries.com/products/78153 .
