The Routledge Companion to Games in Architecture and Urban Planning

With this book, we aim to identify and showcase the rich diversity of games, simulation games, game-like approaches, game scenarios and gamification processes of teaching/learning, design and research in the architecture and urban planning arena. Our goal is to create an opportunity for exchange and reflection on this topic. Theoretical discussions and case studies presenting empirical evidence are a particularly strong feature of this book, combined with reflections, constructive critical analysis, discussions of connections and various influences on this field, as well as descriptive accounts. 17 chapters composed by 28 authors, representing 11 countries from 5 continents, present their studies on games in architecture and urban planning in this book, pose new questions and advocate innovative perspectives.
