Karly Nicole Cadenhead
Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning
Karly Cadenhead is a first year Urban and Regional Planning PhD student at the University of Michigan. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Texas Tech University and an M.S. in Spatial Data Science and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Pennsylvania State University.
Her key areas of interest are affordable housing (particularly subsidized multi-family units), urban economics, spatial analysis, and quantitative methods. Her research aims to understand how ownership dynamics in affordable housing relate to spatial networks, tenant stability, neighborhood effects, and long-term affordability. She believes that developing a holistic understanding of the operational side of affordable housing can enhance decision-making in housing programs.
