“Studying abroad was another defining opportunity that broadened my perspective and profoundly shaped how I see the world.”
Describe the work you do. What are some of your recent and current projects that excite you? What inspires you about the future of your chosen field?
As the US West Regional Business Leader, I bring together strategy, operations, financial performance, and people leadership to help our Buildings practice thrive. I am passionate about connecting our teams across disciplines and markets, strengthening client relationships, and positioning Stantec for important pursuits. At the heart of my role is supporting our people – building strong teams, creating opportunities for growth, and fostering accountability, quality, and innovation. As an architect, I lead large, complex projects, particularly in the aviation and aerospace sectors. I am continually inspired by the creativity and expertise of our people and by the meaningful work we deliver together for our clients.
How did Taubman College prepare you for your career? What experiences beyond the classroom (internships, research assistantships, teaching opportunities, or other external experiences) provided additional value?
Learning from faculty who were also practicing professionals was especially important to me. I had the opportunity to work with many remarkable people, several of whom continue to teach at Taubman today. I also relied on the career services team to secure internships and build meaningful connections within the professional community while I was still a student. Those experiences helped me understand what I valued in a firm and find the right fit after graduation. Studying abroad was another defining opportunity that broadened my perspective and profoundly shaped how I see the world.
What did you like best about attending Taubman College?
One of the things I value most about my time at Taubman College was being surrounded by so many talented and motivated people. The diversity of our backgrounds and our shared drive to succeed challenged us to learn from one another and accomplish more together. That experience fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and created lasting friendships among my classmates and faculty.
