Design computing represents a broad set of topics that greatly extends the potential beyond simple automation of tasks commonly understood as computer aided drafting. Software developers’ open source thinking allows users to adapt or create specialized tools able to process or generate form within the framework of a pre-existing digital environment. This course gives students a framework to learn the rules and then apply the thinking to simple design projects. This semester, the course will focus on the modeling software Rhinoceros with the Python programming language.
