This course teaches about US and global food systems through interdisciplinary, experiential and peer-based learning, focusing on how food systems are shaped by and impact: agriculture and the environment, public health, and urban planning and policy change. In addition to applying systems thinking students will focus on the unique perspectives that urban and regional planners, public health and environmental leaders, and agroecologists bring to understanding and addressing food systems problems during class discussions and a major group project.
