Terry Irwin and Gideon Kossoff’s research and teaching focus on designing for systems-level change and societal transitions, advancing both its theoretical foundations and practical applications in diverse contexts. Terry’s work centers on developing Transition Design research, education, and practice to support more sustainable futures, while Gideon explores how an emerging ecological worldview reshapes our understanding of being human and organizing society.
The Binda Lecture Series honors Guido Binda (B.Arch.’31), who practiced architecture in Western Michigan for seven decades. Guido, with his wife Elizabeth, created this fund to provide for an exhibit program and annual lecture by visiting professionals.
