Phil D’Anieri is a lecturer in architecture and regional planning at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where he teaches upper-level undergraduate courses. He also teaches in the Program in the Environment at U-M’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. A former journalist, legislative policy analyst, and grantmaker, D’Anieri’s research has focused on the politics of planning at the metropolitan scale, including a historical case study of Detroit. He currently is researching the history of the Appalachian Trail.

D’Anieri received his PhD in urban and regional planning from Taubman College.
