Assistant Professor Andrew Herscher to speak at New York Book Launch for Shoshan’s “Atlas of the Conflict: Israel-Palestine”

Taubman College Assistant Professor of Architecture (and author of the book Violence Taking Place) Andrew Herscher will be participating in the New York Book Launch event on Nov. 16, from 7-9 p.m., at the Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York City, for the new book Atlas of the Conflict: Israel-Palestine.

After a presentation by the book’s author Malkit Shoshan, Herscher will provide a commentary of the book, along with Princeton University’s Jane Harrison, before a public discussion with representatives of Israeli and Palestinian lobby groups.

Atlas of the Conflict: Israel-Palestinemaps the processes and mechanisms behind the shaping of Israel-Palestine over the past 100 years. The book offers insights not only into the specific situation of Israel-Palestine, but also into the phenomenon of spatial planning used as a political instrument.
