Associate Professor Thün to present research on High Performance Solar Housing as a Visiting Professor at ISU 2011 in Falera
Associate Professor Thün will be a Visiting Professor at the ISU 2011 in Falera Switzerland from August 20 – September 2. He will present a series of lectures regarding the design and implementation of net energy positive solar housing and the development of second order cybernetic building control interface systems to simplify building occupant relationships with complex technologies, and lead a think-tank seminar on the creation of mass-customized manufacturing regimes for high performance residential architecture.
The International Summer University on Energy provides an inter-institutional context for students at the Graduate and Doctoral level to examine issues surrounding renewable energy technologies, applications and policy. Students from a range of backgrounds including Material Science, Economics, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Mineralogy, Architecture, Computer Science, and Political Science participate in the intensive curricula jointly operated by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, and Freie Universität Berlin. Visiting Faculty members and researchers from DLR German Aerospace Center, Universität Stuttgart, Universität St. Gallen, Universität Liechtenstein, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, Princeton University, and the University of Michigan will present leading edge research across multiple disciplinary perspectives regarding renewable energy conversion, complimenting practical workshops over the course of the program.
