Larissa Larsen addressed Green Korea Conference on urban heat islands 

Urban and Regional Planning Associate Professor, Larissa Larsen, spoke in Seoul, Korea at the third annual Green Korea Conference on September 15, 2011. The conference, co-hosted by the Presidential Committee on Green Growth, and the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences, theme was “Green Growth: Challenge, Strategy, and Cooperation.” Representing the University of Michigan, Larsen addressed policy-makers and experts from Korea, Europe, Asia, and the United States about the problem of the urban heat island, specifically, identifying environmental inequalities and quantifying mitigation strategies. The conference was held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
